The Phillies Lose the World Series!

by Austin Seraphin on November 5, 2009

Since I live in Philly, you might think that I have gotten caught up in the ridiculous World Series, and you’d think wrong. I do not care! I enjoy hanging out with friends, but I just wish people would put their efforts into something more practical.

That said, I turned on the game for two seconds, and heard them say “The Phillies are down by four and,” I turned it off. Later, I checked on the phone and again on the radio, hearing ads for auto insurance both times. I will check one last time, as I feel a collective retardation. The game still plays, but I assume they’ve lost.

GO PHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeEESSSssSSSssSsssSSSSssSSSsss

And it comes down to this, the Phillies’ last chance to win the 2009 WOrld Series. Unfortunately, I got up to get some Cajun peanuts, so missed the first guy, and came in time to see him strike, or hit it and get out, or something. Onto the next victim. The radio sounds a little grainy, the volume lower than average for listening to sports events. This guy walked. The next guy got out, someone caught the ball, one out away. It comes down to their final strike, down 7 to 3, can they do it? Go Phillies! I became a fan at the top of the inning. Down by four, a runner at second. One strike and I can revert to my normal personality. Foul. Terrible! Tragic! Good peanuts though. Another foul! “Tryin’ to keep it going.” says the announcer. “Three and two the count.” It has happened! They threw him out! AAAAAaaaggggggghghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

We now return control. So there you have it. I hope you will remember to come back to Behind the Curtain for more cutting edge coverage of live events. I already have some good ideas for the coming political season, as the 2010 midterm elections will shape the 2012 election cycle.

A strange alien force wrote a bunch of that last entry.
